Sade Village – Lombok

Sade Village in Lombok is a place where you can meet Sasak tribes and how they live their life with their traditional values. It is located in Puju District, Central Lombok. Even the homes of the villagers are unique. They are made of wood and cover with thatched roofs. There are also special traditional houses in the village in cone-shaped. There are seven of them and you will be allowed to spend the night there. They have been standing proudly in the village for 19 generations. There is a tradition or more like unique aspect in this village. The floors of their homes are covered in buffalo dung to clean it. They do it every once in a while.

Baduy Village – Banten

Baduy Village is located in Banten. Some people also call it Kanekes village, located in Leuwidamar district. The villagers still maintain their ancient traditions. The village is divided into two groups. They are Inner Baduy and Outer Baduy. The regulations in Inner Baduy are stricter so you should follow them if you visit the inner part. You will be banned for taking photos or videos. The village will also have a total shut down during the month of Kawalu for about three months. You won’t be able to visit during this period which is from February to April. 

Penglipuran – Bangli

Penglipuran is located in Bangli. It is said to be one of the oldest villages in Bali. However, it still stand proudly. There are various unique points when you visit this village. One of the most obvious part is the uniformity of house entrances. You will also get to see the existence of hallways from one house to another. It represents the harmony and interconnectedness in the lives of its people. The architectural aspects of this village is stunning. Taking pictures or videos of this village is not banned. However, you still need to ask for permission from the villagers if you want to take their pictures. This tourist village is a great destination you should visit when you travel in Bali.
